Your maternity guideline
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO BOOK A MATERNITY SESSION?
Depends mom to mom but it is encouraged between 26-35 weeks!
I also offer discounts for multiple maternity sessions which would cover your baby shower, gender reveal & maternity session.
I offer outdoor sessions when B.C. weather permits & my home studio located in Langley.
Typically indoors we shoot for 11am for the best natural light within my home studio & early morning outdoors for the best light! Clouds & shade are a photographers best friend, direct sunlight is not.
WHAT IS A MATERNITY SESSION LIKE?
Being behind the camera can be very intimidating I want you to rest assured I will guide you through it all.
From beginning to end I will guide you through posing & keeping attention to detail for minor touch ups. Examples being your hair, dress fitting, ensuring your don't have a hair elastic on your wrist ;)
I am full of maternity ideas if you're ever wanting to get creative! I have selected beautiful local parks for the best outdoors backdrops.
I encourage you to bring any personal items or props to the session. Examples being baby booties, ultrasound photos, baby jumper for your littles arrival.
HOW LONG WILL THE SESSION LAST?
Depending which package you chose will dictate the duration. All sessions are executed in the most successful manner for your session time.
If an outdoor location is selected, depending on circumstances I may add a complimentary 30 minutes onto your session for walking so it does not take away from your session time.
I can confidently say within a Daisy mini session which is only 30 minutes you will have a large selection from the raw galley. I am experienced in my field & have perfected from my session locations & session guidance.
WHEN DO WE GET THE PHOTOS BACK?
Depending what time of year! I update my contracts as the year goes by which entails my current time around time. You always receive your raw gallery same day or next day. Turn around time is typically 1-3 weeks.
MAY I INCLUDE PETS?
You bet! Absolutely outdoors, all of my locations are pet friendly. My home studio is pet friendly as well of course with well trained animals & supervised. I also offer in-home sessions/property sessions incase you have an elderly animal or barn animals. Must be within my serving range & a suitable home more information may be given upon request!
WHAT DO WE WEAR?
It is client's responsibility to follow the color graph shown here. This insures everyone blends together beautifully within the album. I recommend slacks, dress pants or dark jeans for men/boys. As well as sweaters, PLAIN t-shirts or long sleeves & button up shirts alone or over top shirts. For the ladies - dresses, skirts, sweaters & regular t-shirts are all perfect within the color graph. Soft textures like wool & knitted clothing always look fantastic! I am stern on no logo'd clothing of any sorts examples being - No Nike/Puma, kids logo's on their shirts etc. No pull over sports hoodies, sweats or track suites. Lastly please no running shoes for adults or kids & if at all possible please no base ball caps either. Clients are to send me their outfit choices for me to approve for their session. Thank you! Color tones
Please ensure if you don't decide to wear one of my maternity dresses - You ensure you follow the color tone palette for your session. Please kindly share with your partner & family to follow the color guide so everyone blends together nicely for the final look.
